My professor is the epitome of the definition of vague. So, the first project of the semester is on "home."
What is the medium?
The size?
What should it encompass?
Is it 2D or 3D?
That is up to you, whatever, just "home." And so, let the semester begin.
Over the course of the week, I have begun to think, sort out my thoughts on this "home" project and slowly, they are starting to come together. My project is due Sept. 14th - so sometime before then I will post the outcome of the "home" project, and hopefully convey my thoughts on home. Here is a sample though - Sayin goes, "Home is where the heart is." Answering the question, "Where does my heart lie?"
BUT, until then I want to hear your thoughts - What does the word "home" mean to you? Maybe it's a structure, a particular place, a particular person, a feeling, or maybe it's none of the above. Whatever it is, please share.
Obviously for us, "home" has multiple meanings in our life currently...we've left "home" back in Kentucky, we are setting up "home" in the Phoenix area...and in the meantime, our "home", that word that constitutes family, togetherness, etc...has been extremely upset over the switching of geographical homes. Tensions are high, tempers are short, and schedules are completely wacked out...however, I know those things will level out soon, and then our "home" will be back to a level of normality.
Ultimately, I think "home" is too often associated w/ geography than what really matters...family, friends, and a sense of community. We hope to fill in 2 of those 3 soon here...
